Manresa School Proudly Launches the Joint Celebration of National Book Week and Children’s Month 2025
NOV 27
Manresa School proudly launched the joint celebration of National Book Week and Children’s Month on November 19, 2025, marking the beginning of a meaningful week dedicated to literacy, children’s rights, and holistic development. Guided by the theme, “Upholding Every Child’s Dignity through Reading, Learning, and Expression—Growing in Faith, Journeying with Hope, and Living in Love,” this year’s celebration highlights the power of education in nurturing the inherent worth and dignity of every learner. Under the leadership of Chairpersons Mrs. Lorraine Caronongan and Ms. Clarisse Arango, faculty members and Subject Area Coordinators from the Reading Area, Learning Resource Center, Araling Panlipunan, Computer, GMRC, MAPE, and Filipino Areas have thoughtfully prepared a dynamic lineup of activities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and meaningful participation. The week-long celebration is set to conclude on November 27, 2025, with a culminating event honoring the efforts and achievements of all pupils.
A rich array of literacy- and rights-centered activities brought excitement and learning to every corner of the school. Pupils journeyed through values-filled stories in the Dignity Walk, promoted literacy in the Reading Advocacy Corner, and explored new books during Read, Rise, and Shine: A Book Fair for Every Child. They also enjoyed meeting author Ms. Michellan Sarile-Alagao, doubled their reading goals during the Reading Frenzy, and returned overdue books during Amnesty Week. Creativity flourished in the Book Face Photo Contest, Letters to My Favorite Character, Poster-Making, Create-a-Bookmark Challenge, and the LitZone mini-library competition. Meaningful discussions took place during Kapihan sa Aklatan and Book Talk sessions, while joyful competitions such as Battle of Bookworms, Class Read-a-Thon, and poetry contests further enriched the experience. Pupils also deepened their understanding of rights and dignity through activities like Rights Through Play, Rights of Children sessions, Strings of Rights, Threads of Love, and Kwento Ko, Awit Ko. The celebration became even more vibrant with the Reading Picnic and Living Stories: A Parade of Book Characters, where literature came to life through costumes and performances. Each activity reflected the school’s commitment to literacy, creativity, and the holistic formation of every child.
As the week concludes, Manresa School extends its deepest gratitude to all pupils, parents, faculty, and staff whose enthusiasm and cooperation made National Book Week and Children’s Month 2025 a resounding success. Through this collective effort, the community truly upheld every child’s dignity and strengthened a culture of reading, learning, and expression, one that will continue to grow in faith, journey with hope, and live in love long after the celebration ends.
