A Heart for Nature: Grade Five Manresans Outreach Activity at SVD Laudato Si Farm
JAN 27

On a bright and sunny January 27, 2025, Manresa School embarked on a meaningful outreach program with selected Grade 5 pupils and teachers, visiting the SVD Laudato Si Farm in Tagaytay City.
Have you ever heard of Laudato Si, and what does it mean? Latin for “Praised be,” Laudato Si is a powerful letter written by Pope Francis, urging people to take action in response to the cry of the Earth. It highlights the urgent need to care for the environment and protect God’s creation for the well-being of future generations.
The outreach program at SVD Laudato Si Farm was not just a visit—it was an eye-opening experience that allowed students to connect with nature, meet new people, and deepen their awareness of environmental stewardship. Through this initiative, they learned the importance of respecting God’s creation and embracing their role as caretakers of the Earth.
Prior to the visit in Tagaytay and in line with this mission, the Grade 5 pupils organized a fundraising activity to support the farmers at SVD Farm. They brought pre-loved items to school and set up a garage sale during their free time, demonstrating their commitment to helping others. More than just raising funds, this activity strengthened their sense of community, responsibility, and compassion.
The Earth’s suffering has brought people together, inspiring a movement rooted in love, care, and responsibility. This outreach reminds us that even small acts of kindness and awareness can grow into meaningful change. Let us continue taking steps—no matter how small—toward a greener, more sustainable world for future generations.
